Four Years Ago Today...

...I paraded around Lubbock in sweats and veil for a good majority of the day.
...I set up 100+ chairs with my parents, aunt and bridesmaids during super high humidity (still in the veil)
...I ate Chik-fil-a in the middle of a dance floor.
...I watched rain flood the courtyard where the previously mentioned chairs were set up.
...I fought to keep my naturally curly hair straight enough to look presentable.
...I rushed around to decorate a completely different area for a wedding.
...I put on electric blue Converse and a white poofy dress.
...I took 549161898631 pictures.
...I watched my bridesmaids and groomsmen walk down the aisle to songs like "Brickhouse" and "Sharp Dressed Man"
...I walked towards my future with my daddy holding my hand.
...I laughed and cried while saying my vows.
...I played with bendy lighters while lighting the unity candle.
...I said "I do" to my very best friend and our forever.
...I kissed the boy in front of a whole bunch of people.
...I jumped off a stage.
...I tripped over my dress 87194 times.
...I ate only one bite of cake.
...I did the cupid shuffle with the wedding party.
...I changed clothes halfway through the reception and went back to dancing.
...I saw family and friends having a good time.
...I saw my poor car vandalized with streamers, shoe polish and condoms.
...I threw condoms out of my car which ended up hitting children (sorry 'bout that)
...I washed my car at 10:00 at night.
...I ordered pizza from Domino's to be delivered to me and a hungry husband.

Four Years Ago Today...was the best day of my life.
Four years ago today...I married my best friend.
I love you, Shane!

Life After Graduation

I graduated Saturday!
Yup. I am a college graduate from the University of Oklahoma.
It was pretty fantastic...

Walked across the stage...twice.
Got my empty diploma holder.
Sang the OU chant...twice.
Ate ungodly amounts of food that may or may not have included a giant cookie cake.
Received some pretty wonderful gifts from the family.
I even got surprise recognized at church :)

Then what?

Well I started my grad school classes today.
Yessir. I got a whole two days off.
Lucky me.

How was grad school?
Great...if you consider not having a life for the next year a good thing.
But really...I am going to be one busy busy girl but it will be worth it in the end.
So yeah...

I'll try to pop in here and update on the big things but I'm pretty much booked for the next twelve months.
Ha...yay for me.

Eight days and counting

Graduation is coming up. About eight more days to be exact.
But who's counting?

Anywho...it has got me thinking a lot the last couple of days.
I. AM. GRADUATING.
Nine years. Five schools. Three majors.
I am finally finished with my undergraduate degree.
I even put some pretty silvery stickers on my grad cap. It says "FINALLY"
I thought it was appropriate...

But then what?

I have a lot of new things coming up.

New job on May 6th.
Graduation on May 11th.
Start my bridge course for the masters program on May 14th.
Summer will consist of the bridge course and two electives.
F.I.N.A.L. year of school starts on August 12th...I think.

Just think...this time next year I will be talking about graduating with a masters!

But for now I'm just trying to concentrate on a few days at a time.
So first...let's knock the last few days until graduation.
Graduation = seeing my family.
Family that I haven't seen since Christmas. Sad face =(
Graduation = food cooked by the boy's family
Graduation = one step closer to my dream becoming a reality!!!

Updates From The Recliner

So I am sitting in the boy's recliner watching the weather. Weather that is currently freaking out. Weather with a tornado here and there. Weather that contains hail anywhere from the size of a pea to an apple...according to the weatherman who is apparently hungry.

I also have two puppies in my lap. One that is legitimately scared and hates loud thunder and storms. One that just can't stand not being the center of attention and edged his way up on my lap.

The boy is walking around sans pants because he is a man and according to him, men can do whatever they darn well please. Including walk around during bad weather in their underwear.

I am just sitting here. Browsing Pinterest, updating the blog, checking the Twitter machine and figuring out other ways to run down the battery on my phone. Not smart, I know.

But yeah...

We are still here. The winds haven't blown us off the map yet so that's peachy. Hopefully the weather calms the heck down and just sends the rain and forgets the hail. Yay for Oklahoma in the spring!

Phone Photo Dump...Again

I figured it was time to dump some phone photos again.
Why not?
I mean...who doesn't love horrible quality photos of completely random things?
I know I do...

So I was at a meeting for something social work related and there were real social workers there.
You know, like the ones with masters degrees and licenses....
This lady was at the table next to me and started to dig in her pretty sizable purse and guess what she pulled out?
A BUNNY!
A really cute bunny that hopped smooth off the table a few times.
But apparently this lady has anxiety and the bunny is kind of a service animal to help.
Now I want an anxiety bunny...

This is what Boomer looks like when Shane is out of town for the weekend.
What a daddy's boy...

My new fun way to cook hot dogs.
More places for burned spots (the best way to eat them) and fun to look at.
It's a win-win!

The boy and Tiki were not having a good morning.
I just thought they looked cute :)

Boomer was cold and Shane didn't have a blanket so he just climbed up his sweatshirt instead.
We have weird dogs.

I got to go to Bass Performance Hall in Fort Worth and see "Peter Pan" with my mother-in-law, sister-in-law and two nannie-in-laws. BEST PLAY I'VE EVER SEEN! Plus, it was Cathy Rigby...who is THE Peter Pan! She is one tiny lady. Mother-in-law even got her poster autographed...to the grandbabies...which do not exist. Here was the conversation...

Mother-in-law: Can you make it out to the grandbabies?
Cathy Rigby: Oh, are you expecting twins?
MIL: No...there are actually no grandbabies yet but I believe there will be!
CR: Well...um...good luck...they are fun!

Me and the sweet sister-in-law at the Water Gardens. This is one of my favorite pictures of us. She is one of my most favorite people ever in life.

Our Walmart was having some serious issues. Hail storm on Saturday = roof damage. Nonstop rain on Tuesday and Wednesday = every aisle covered in buckets, bowls, storage bins, wading pools, trash cans and anything else that holds water. Basically it was an obstacle course and Walmart had to close for the day...and it wasn't even Christmas!

This would be my two weeks notice...taped to my boss' computer monitor. I wanted to make sure it didn't get lost in the shuffle of papers on his desk. Hard to believe I am leaving the place that I've been at for the last two and half years.

Cap and gown!!! 25 days left!! Graduation announcements went out today and my gown is just waiting to be rocked on May 11th. And then I start grad school the next week...nice, huh?

That's all I have but stay tuned for another edition of Phone Photo Dump!

Beyond Exhausted

It rained today. Which happens to be Wednesday.
Which so conveniently is the ONLY day I have to go to campus and walk to class.
How wonderful, right?
NO!
I got to sit through four hours of class with wet socks.
Wet socks happen to be one of my  least favorite things ever. In life.
Then after walking through the rain, waiting for the bus in the rain and wading through small lakes, I got to go to work.
What I really wanted was to go straight home and curl up on the couch with my fleece blanket and DRY socks.

I then struggled through work and by struggle...I mean....I almost fell asleep while sitting at my computer...while working!
Pathetic, I know.
As I told the boy, I feel like someone took a straw and sucked all the energy out of my body.

However...

I have the best husband ever.
I came home to dinner fixed and waiting for me.
I was told to sit on the couch and relax.
He waited on me.
He brought me my fleece blanket and found my slippers.
I got one of those big hugs that make you want to stay there forever.
And now he is singing along to "Beauty and the Beast" with me.

Yup. I think I picked a winner.

Yet Another Update...Sort Of

I'm such a lame blogger but I am oddly okay with that.
Maybe it will get more exciting when there is a bun in the oven...
But alas...
No bun. Empty oven. Totally okay with that.

Moving on...

Want to hear something crazy?
   - 5 weeks left until graduation
   - 4 class periods left in my undergrad
   - 3 french hens (Can you tell that I just wanted to have a 3 in the list?)
   - 2 papers left to turn in
   - 1 DIPLOMA COMING UP!!!!

There are a lot of changes coming up too...which is kind of crazy to think of.
I'm leaving the job that I've had for the last two and half years. I'm looking for something a little more social work-y and a lot less hectic. I had an interview today for a position that would be PERFECT but I will not hear anything until the first week of June. Talk about a test of patience. In the meantime I am going to concentrate on summer courses  for grad school and trying to relax a little before my last crazy year of school.

Did you hear that?!?!?
LAST. YEAR. OF. SCHOOL. EVER.
Excited is an understatement.

Oh...I guess I should talk about the boy as well.
He has been busy busy with softball but it has paid off with another year as Conference Champions.
There are games Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday. Sometimes they even throw in Thursday.
With church on Wednesday and Sunday...let's just say we stay busy in this house.
But he is loving every minute and it looks like we could be making another trip to the state tournament this year! Hopefully he can add another ring to his collection.

What else?

We are going to the Medieval Fair this weekend! That means people watching! Indian tacos! Cream soda in really pretty bottles! More people watching! I strongly suggest that people attempt to make it out to one of these things. Free admission and girls who should not be wenches bundling up all their business to be lovely "little"  wenches. I love the Medieval Fair!

I really do not have anything else.
I know...boring.
But I have graduation announcements to work on because in 5 weeks....I will be DONE-ZO!!!!!
